This is the first of the Meg Ryan romcom trifecta, followed by Sleepless in Seattle ('93) and You've Got Mail ('98). She actually has 13 romcoms where she's listed as one of the top 3 stars, but these are the highest rated, and most popular. Nora Ephron wrote and/or directed all 3.
I crossed out the "are" in the synopsis; I'd say "become" instead.
Dir. Reiner's c.track is sparse and adds very little to the 30min featurette, which is pretty good.
