Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002), 6 {nm}

PG | 1h 34min | Adventure, Biography, Drama | 4 February 2002
In 1931, three half-white, half-Aboriginal girls escape after being plucked from their houses to be trained as domestic staff, and set off on a journey across the Outback.
Director: Phillip Noyce
Stars: Everlyn Sampi, Tianna Sansbury, Laura Monaghan, Kenneth Branagh.

Watched online, ok print. Put on my list b/c of KB.

Bizarre policy, based on the idea that in 3 generations the dark can be bred out of the half-caste, and meanwhile they can be servants and learn white ways.

OK film, sorta recommended because it's different story of whites oppressing dark-skinned people; here targeting half-aborigines by blood. (They're full by culture.)

However, it's a lot of the girls walking, covering their tracks, finding food and white men trying to find them and failing, even knowing that they're on a particular path.

Not a lot of plot or action here.
