Sunday in the Park with George (1986), 8

2h 26min | Comedy , Drama , Romance | Episode aired 16 June 1986
American Playhouse (1981– )
Video production of the Pulitzer-prize winning musical stage production. In the first act, "George", a fictionalized Georges Seurat paints his lover, Dot.
Director: Terry Hughes
Stars: Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, ..., Charles Kimbrough, Brent Spiner.

17 songs in the Soundtracks.  Favorite, and apparently most recorded (per c.track): Putting It Together.

This is a wonderful show (good songs, performances, illumination about the struggle to create), and makes me wish every B'way production would be recorded and released when the it closes (or the touring completes), especially musicals and especially Shuffle Along, Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed (2016). (Just checked: only a couple of clips on YouTube.)

Investing time in the c.track was not really worthwhile. Sondheim, Lapine (author/stage director), Patinkin & Peters were all in a room together, watching this with sound off, and were reminiscing, not really conveying useful or even interesting info.
