Watched online, blurry print.

13 songs in the Soundtracks, one of which is the title song, but not performed by Cyndi Lauper (released on her '83 album).

I'm not at all clear why the IMDb credits are in their current order; I picked out the familiar names. SJP (b. '65) & HH (b. '63) are the primary focus, playing HS students. SD is a preteen.

This is pretty tedious, but I'm tired of giving so many 5's. SJP & HH make this tolerable. A better print might help.

SJP enters a dance contest and makes it to the live show. She gets paired with a stranger. She has 10 years of training in gymnastics & dance. He's more of a "natural". Complications clog their path.

The dancing is filmed in that choppy, "let's hide the (lack of) skills", manner. Dance is the only onscreen music performance, except the band at the country club party.
