Rosero McCoy ... choreographer

15 songs in the Soundtracks.

The title character from Honey (2003), 6 is absent, but this takes place at her studio, and her relative (Lonette McKee) remains there and is foster-parent to the juvie dancer (KG) who heads this cast. I don't remember if anyone explains where Honey is, but they talk about how good a dancer she was.

The dancing here is not very good. Considering that multiple crews are shown either auditioning for or competing in the show within the film, it's amazing only 1 choreographer was credited. Perhaps we have cause & effect there: not enough time went into the dance prep. Worse, the crew that wins the contest was definitely not the best onscreen.

There are a few moments of good dancing (which prevents me from rating 5), but not enough to make me want to see this again. Plenty of similar films make better choices. The characters and story are not worthy either.

Amazingly, Honey 3 (2016) was made.

Rated 5.4 (6,295)
