Watched online, ok copy.

9 songs in the Soundtracks; 7 are Music by Henry Mancini, Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, 1 more is music by HM. This really is a musical.

Although I recognize 6 names among the cast I picked out above, only DL's voice jumped out at me during the film.

I've never been a fan of T&J. They originated the same year as Bugs Bunny ('40), but MGM cartoons always seemed aimed at younger people to me, even when they got Tex Avery from Termite Terrace. And T&J don't talk, so there was no snappy repartee. (Although Jerry talked to Gene Kelly in Anchors Aweigh ('45)?)

But the 1st 2 cast credits are for T&J voices. Huh? Well, in the script, it's also a surprise to the characters that the other can talk and never did until a 3rd party (talking dog) asks them a question.

The adventure begins with T&J missing the moving van when the family leaves, and the home getting demolished. So they're truly homeless, and meet the dog and his friend the flea (DL). Those 2 promptly get caught by guys looking for animals for a doctor's experiments. Meanwhile T&J meet a semi-orphan (father is traveling) who ran away from the guardian at home. But the cops find her and bring back all 3 to the house. The guardian pays the doctor to take them away and kill them, but they escape, freeing all the other animals at the lab.

T&J make their way back to the girl and discover the guardian has lied, the father is not dead. So the girl runs away again with T&J, and the guardian in pursuit. The guardian gets to the known destination (a meeting place the father will seek) before the girl, and they lock her in. The place catches fire, but the girl refuses to leave with them, and she's on the roof when her father arrives by helicopter (Tibet being so close by?), and he rescues her but T&J go down with the house. Fortunately it's built over a lake, so they just get wet. Girl takes them home, dad promises never to leave again, T&J start chasing each other around the house. (I'm not sure what happened to guardian & lawyer, but they're gone.) The End.

Droopy (seen in the poster) had only a cameo. His voice artist is 3rd from last in the credits, but is one of the original voices for the character, dating back to '49. (Per Wikipedia, there were 2 others before him, including Tex Avery; so far 12 actors in all.) I wouldn't be surprised if it were archive audio, because his one line is his famous "hello all you happy people".

Really quite dull, as I would expect from T&J. Rated 5.3 by 8k+ IMDb voters. Avoid.
