24 songs in the Soundtracks. Actual groups appearing onscreen: Run-DMC, Fat Boys, New Edition, Beastie Boys, and more. Some songs are just in the score.
For me, this is a krushing bore. The drama consists of BU, as Russell Walker, borrowing $5k to have highly-in-demand records manufactured. But he borrows from a loan shark, and can't pay on time. His brother (Run) pays it off for him after he signs with a bigger record company, deserting his brother.
Sheila E.'s numbers are very Prince-like because she's under contract to Paisley Park, and he gets co-writing credit on one of her songs.
Rated 6.5 by 2.5k+ IMDb voters.
