First widescreen film from Paramount, first 3D musical.
Yikes, a commentary track is buried under the Audio menu, NOT on the Extras menu.
I'm watching this without 3D glasses, and don't find it particularly blurry, so I don't know if this dvd is the 3d version or not. The color is not dazzling, but the c-track explains that it was shot in Eastmancolor, then printed by Technicolor.
I bought this hoping to see GB sing/dance. Unless I dozed off at just the right moment, it didn't happen. GW, TB, and the Bell Sisters, yes.
5 songs in the Soundtracks: 2 by TB, 1 by GW, 1 by both, 1 by Bell Sisters.
1st of 3 film credits for GW. Only film credit for TB, which is a shame, because I like her voice, and she acted well.
The songs are too few and far between. The plot is shrug-worthy, and without the 3D, the film is not pleasant to look at; the c-track makes it sound as though the 3D effects are pretty good.
