Jack Cole ... choreographer
4 songs performed per the Soundtrack: 4 by MM, 1 also title song by Tennessee Ernie Ford and, theoretically by Robert Mitchum (no idea where). The choreography here is showgirl wiggle with only 1 girl, and not even on a performance stage.
The scenery is gorgeous, and WS is used well outdoors. Someone went down a very rapid river to bring us this footage. Per IMDb, Salmon River, Idaho. Also listed: Banff National Park and Jasper National Park, both in Alberta, Canada.
I find this highly engaging. TR, MM & RM are in a stressed situation, and it's interesting where the film takes their characters. RC plays an interesting fellow too, but a simple characterization; he's not onscreen much.
MM is more active than her usual persona, steering the raft and tending wounds. The character is a bit tougher than in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes or How to Marry a Millionaire, but she's living in tougher times in a tougher environment. I'd say it's mostly "the" persona.
