Interesting that Dreamworks decided to make a "more serious" version of this story, especially since the film of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999), 7+ was so recent. (Also, the stage play had been running for years, per ibdb.com: 1982-3, revived 1993-4, toured also 1995-6; plus D.Osmond said he'd been performing it 5-6 years.)
The story is the same as adapted by Rice/Webber, without all the kitsch & pastiche. The 6 songs here just underline the story/characters. They were not the raison d'etre for the film.
I did not recognize any voices. (Hooray!)
