Watched on AmazonPrime.

39 songs in the Soundtracks.

"Dance music", another genre where I can't tell the songs apart.

I'm pretty sure this is the first film where someone said they looked up something on the internet. [You've Got Mail ('98), in case you're wondering.] They show an early computer with squawk-sounds for connection (like a fax machine), and someone apparently in a chat room/live bbs, but no identification preceding each person's comment.

I don't remember hearing about raves until later, but I couldn't say exactly when.

More of a mood piece than a story; tries to convey what it's like at one of these events.

The party's in an empty warehouse in SF where they have piped in power from somewhere (neighboring building or patched into the powerline?)

We never saw any money change hands. The guy who organized the party (and several DJs were there in succession; I'm sure they don't work for free) said he did it for the person(s) who gives him "the nod" of thanks during/after the rave.

We follow 4 other characters or so. A tech writer who meets a girl who's unhappy with her choice to be a prostitute instead of a student, both under the influence of a sensory enhancing drug where you're supposed to drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration. Also a pre-existing couple: guy proposes with an engagement ring at the beginning of the party; she's excited; they both take their party drug right after. He wanders off and she finds him making out with a guy; she's upset, but later we see them having sex (she's seduced him to reestablish their relationship). He tells his makeout partner that he doesn't usually do that.

We follow a few other people, but with less involvement.

Fairly dull stuff. Not worth a second look.
