Classical music is "performed by" the leads (dubbed). So this would pass my definition of musical.
Remake of Jealousy (1929). And that is the subject of this film: both romantic and professional jealousy. I dislike the story, the melodramatic score, the performances. The only thing I liked (other than the music performed) was the ambiguous unresolved ending. I'm not a fan of BD; I find much of her acting overwrought. I'd say All About Eve ('50) is the only film starring her that I bought for that film (not in a box set, or really for a costar), and AAE is more about the entire cast and the Mankiewicz labors.
Really, it's not worth suffering through the dramatics to hear the music performed (the +). PH gets violent toward BD, she gets violent toward CR, and CR threatens to destroy PH emotionally. Yechh.
