Condos Brothers Bibliography

[LC] We Did Believe in Spring (the Tap Dancer and Sweet Lorraine)
Lorraine McClung Condos
DORRANCE Publishing Company Incorporated, Mar 1, 2015 - Biography & Autobiography - 220 pages, Kindle edition
Memoirs of widow of Steve Condos, mentions
  • brothers Nick and Frank, sisters Eve, Ann, Joanie, Marie. The only mention of "Harry" is the character that Steve plays in a New Orleans production of Guys and Dolls.
  • (locs 234, 587, 1346) brothers Nick and Steve were in Fox musicals like Moon Over Miami, Pin Up Girl and more.
  • (loc 1014) Steve's first film was with Ben Bernie, Sonja Henie, Caesar Romero. [This paragraph is flawed, since it mentions SH in the 1939 Winter Olympics, makes it sound as though Ben Bernie was in the SH film. He was in Condos Brothers' film Wake Up and Live (1937). But the SH film was next: Happy Landing (1938), and did costar CR.]
LMC states she was at least 22 years younger than SC, didn't meet him until the 1960's.

Provides the photos, all captioned as Nick and Steve, from these films:
  • Wake Up and Live (1937), p103
  • In the Navy (1941), p105
  • Pin Up Girl (1944), p105
  • The Time, the Place and the Girl (1946), p108
Says (p104) that Nick and Steve were making films as the Condos Brothers. She doesn't mention any Condos in The Midshipmaid ('32). On p104, the author erroneously mentions She's Back on Broadway ('53) as a film with the brothers; instead Steve is paired with Jerry Brandow, which she listed correctly on p318.

Interview with Steve begins p104.
