Stomp the Yard (2007), 5+

PG-13 | 1h 49min | Drama, Music, Romance | 12 January 2007
After the death of his brother, an expert street dancer goes to Georgia to attend Truth University. But his efforts to get an education and woo the girl he likes are sidelined when he joins in his fraternity's effort to win a step dancing competition.
Director: Sylvain White
Stars: Columbus Short, Meagan Good, Ne-Yo.
Chuck Maldonado ... associate choreographer
Dave Scott ... choreographer

Watched online, good print.

34 songs in the Soundtracks, but some of the dancing is strictly rhythmic.

The street-style dancing (mostly men) is good, but not really filmed well (the usual too many cuts and focused on partial ,bodies instead rather than the whole), and the time between dancing is lengthy and dull. I actually increased the playback speed most of the 2nd half.

Rated  5.3 (20,848)
