Watched online; ok but fuzzy print. Also on Amazon Prime.

(While trying to land a job in NY, she claims to be a famous singer in Brazil, but in the opening scene she is just about to open in her first big gig.)

I watched this a few hours ago, and don't remember exactly how it ends. I'm sure that once her reporter boyfriend arrived from Brazil (with his heavy American accent; was he supposed to be American?), and took charge of things, and they figured out who framed her brother, that they brought him to justice.

She sings frequently, and has a nice voice. Apparently she was a singer of The Carioca in Flying Down to Rio ('33); I can picture someone like her singing that.

The quality of acting and production is better than the race films I've seen, but this is still a big step down from B pictures produced by a major studio. I don't think I recognized anyone.
