12 songs in the Soundtracks, including YMCA.
The only director credit for NW. Yes, Rhoda's mom.
Now that Bruce Jenner has transitioned to female, it's fascinating to see him in his masculine prime (he won Olympic decathlete gold in '76), and think of all the time and effort he devoted to his masculine self.
The biggest, most interesting production number was YMCA, held in a gymnasium with lots of athletes, especially gymnasts. Reminded me of the Is Anyone Here For Love number in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes ('53) aboard ship with Jane Russell and the Olympic gymnastic team, but much longer and more elaborate.
SG is an aspiring songwriter, VP a successful model (commercial, maybe also fashion?), and she helps him to launch this group which is going to perform his songs. But there's also a law firm and a record producer, a lawyer's mother BR who's skilled at producing large charity events, and SG's mother JH who helps SG negotiate with PS the record producer. (I forgot why she has showbiz negotiation skills.) TG is a modeling booker or maybe VP's agent.
Obviously the music is mostly disco, but it's ok. Actually kind of missed Macho Man and In the Navy.
