All Hands on Deck (1961), 6-

Story of a Navy ship with a captain obsessed with catching a fish, a singing executive officer wanting to get married, and an Indian with a turkey as a pet.
1h 40min | Comedy, Musical | 30 March 1961 | Color, WS
Director: Norman Taurog
Stars: Pat Boone, Buddy Hackett, Dennis O'Keefe, Barbara Eden.
Harold Belfer ... choreographer

Watched online: part 1, part 2; ok copy.

5 songs in Soundtracks, 1 without performer, others sung by PB.

Not much as a musical, although PB has a lovely voice.

Frenetic comedy, borderline annoying, with slight plot. Peacetime navy is spiteful, with officers assigning duties and/or calling impossible inspections just to assert authority. But no one gets into real trouble for transgressions, so it's just emotionally abusive, in a "funny" way. Yuck.

BH as a native American?

BE is not quite blonde enough, and has short hair. She'll look better on TV.
