Pleasant fluff. No dark social issue in the script. However, this has an all-Asian cast, and an old vs. new world customs, old vs. new generation conflicts.

PA, the younger brother of Shigeta, a teen who really dances well. His numbers, and the R&H-signature fantasy ballet by RS & Shigeta with male dancers, are the highlights of the film. Otherwise, the dances were showgirl stuff. PA is extra familiar because he played Ho-Jon on MASH, and the elder son in The King and I ('56).

MU is a terrific dramatic actress. J.Soo is a terrific comic actor.
