Watched online: part 1, part 2.

11 songs in the Soundtracks, with no performers.

This is the first PB musical I've found complete online. The last one had a couple of part1's, with a note by this uploader that part2 had been removed.

This plot seemed familiar, like something Lucille Ball would have made at MGM. But it's different enough, and shares no writers, so I suppose not. It's a nice bit of fluff, with no serious heartaches. Each man meets a girl in NO, and both singers (PB, TS) get their share of songs. PB sings a blues number as only a white crooner can, although I was thinking Bing could have given it a bluer hue.

PB (b. '34) is handsome, and sings very well. I can see his appeal, and look forward to seeing more of his work, but this is his 3rd of 16 films, and the next musical is '61.

This is a nice meeting of "rock" with traditional movie musical songs; most of these songs are music by Sammy Fain, whose songwriting has racked up film soundtrack credits since 1928!
